run of serial numbers was in the finishing department in
1894. There were only 1700 grade 935 movements ever
manufactured. How many are still out there after 114 years?

According to Jerry Matthews from Sussex England: "the hallmark dates the case to 1919-20. Russells Limited are
listed in Loomes as working at 18 Church Street Liverpool from 1900 to 1920.
There appear to be two case makers' marks on the case. P.J on the inside cover is probably Percy John Jones of
Coventry, who was noted as a maker of gold cases. He was registered at the London assay office in 1913. The C.H
on the stem could be Charles Harris also of Coventry. His date of registration is much earlier---1878---but he could
of course have been working still 35 years later.
To the right a beautiful and quite collectible 18 size Elgin
"Father Time". Beautifully decorated movement with 21
jewels. I believe the hands were replaced sometime in
the past as this railroad grade watch most likely left the
factory with black hands. Mint Mongomery dial !!
